Today I am sharing a portion of his portfolio dedicated to Seagulls in Istanbul. Yunus obviously Loves these birds. To him they are representations of freedom and a city he loves.
His Personal Goal : Every photo I capture must be better than the previous one. My philosophy is continuous improvement.
His Wants :I want to specialize in portraits of people, but I want to photograph everything I see too.
His Commitment: I will not commit to a fixed direction so I can keep refreshing myself for better performance.
His Future: After I see myself as a photographer, I will begin with the stories of my captured photos.
His Meaning: For me, photography is a story about what I want to tell…
…and for me, Yunus, I can’t wait to hear you tell it! Lesley.

I will look at seagulls with a fresh eye when we visit the coast in a week’s time. The photographs are truly lovely – the gulls so fresh and free. I read Jonathan Livingstone Seagull (own copy from a zillion years ago) to a young Malawian lass in my voluntary teaching to read at a school here in Johannesburg last year – she was entranced. As was I on the re-reading of it.
Thank you Yunus for sharing your wonderful photography and to you Lesley for this treat. I have twittered it (like the twittering of the birds) and FB’d it …

Wonderful of you. I am not a bird person but as I said these shots are just breath taking and the seagulls in Istanbul must be different than the ones at Clearwater Beach Florida!

I found this post as a reblog on 1EarthNow blog by Maddy Walsh. Just wanted to say, thank you for this journey back in time, to my beautiful Black Sea. It was so great to see all these wonderful colors from my childhood and the seagulls! Through these images, I can practically smell the water. The Black Sea scent is like no other. And the climate! Miss all that terribly. I grew up on the other side of the Black Sea, in Odessa.
Hugs and love,
Lada.

Lada! I am so happy you came by to let me know this. Stay tuned for more from Turkey as I have access to so many wonderful photos and personal memories myself. I too can smell the sea and it makes me homesick for a place I only visited. That is the draw of your native land. xox, Lesley

Absolutely stunning photography, what camera are you using? What lenses to capture birds in mid-flight? Incredible!

Please feel free to contact Yunus – via his website. He is very approachable and will be happy to inform you. I LOVED the one where the two birds look like they may collide! I will let him know about the re-blog – thanks for coming by.

Absolutely wonderful! The pictures are incredible and breathtaking. This is a great message. I am not the biggest fan of birds either, however when I allow myself to let go and let God I find magic on their sweet songs instead of allowing them to get on my nerves. I love this post and it was a much needed read today as I was just getting annoyed at the squawks of the birds outside my window. Now, I am singing along with their sweet tunes!
Much love and abundant blessings,
Kimmy
