Hope Minus Hope – (a free-write)
Without the frigid
Lullaby of midnight
That chills me
Fights me – keeps me closer
To myself
How could I ever languish
On sun-lit pavement
Appreciating rays of hope
To warm me – spark me
Light my inner fire
To see me though
To the other side
Of living hell
When sets the sun
This winter’s eve
And many more.

Hi Lesley. A friend once told me – you’ll never know how it feels to be up – if you’ve never felt down. You have said that with such eloquence. Thank you.

Absolutely right Mary but some people are more taxed on that path than others. I was thinking of all the homeless and what a harsh winter they have gone through. Really saddening. (thanks – blush)

What a lovely treatment of the way we need both hope and warmth as well as tough time. Yin and yang…

Thank you – I am always interested to know how people perceive what I write. I was thinking that Hope Minus Hope may come off negative but you have once again let me know that it really depends on the nature of whoever reads it.
