I went back to this post Lesley and I was sure I had commented but I don’t it see it there. The image is great (!) and the words especially are powerful. Always the danger of disconnection from self and others.
Thank you!

hey you two! i’ve been twelve years without a phone! or a television, and i don’t miss them at all! the phone usually rings when someone calls to ask something of me, and is rarely at a good time. emails usually work, and people learn to think ahead/plan ahead! i’ve always said that televisions are like drugs, you turn them on and then three hours later everyone is still zoned out – no interactions between people, and nothing to show for those hours… give me a carl sagan sky instead.. or the solace of the sounds of nature… or a good book…or a blank sheet of paper… or – ahem, a computer and photos and an empty wordpress compose page!!!!
sorry i’ve been silent… i’m catching up a bit but the floor awaits my attention. i hope to finish the first part today and seal it.
later amigas,

HOLY MOLY – no TV? I have to say that with our winters here in the great north ( 🙂 ) a TV is a welcome friend sometimes, along with a roaring fire.

I am able when I break my regular routine and leave my phone at home. Making a point of doing so give me power!

I am smiling because I am for the first time in my life using a cell phone excursively. Prior to several months ago I used a land line only, unless traveling. Late bloomer.
I noticed right away the differences in beliefs with a cell phone vs a land line With a land line I was never compelled to take it every where I went because i just could not. It was not a way of life to be attached at the hip to a phone for me Nor was it expected that I be available for every call. .
Cell phones create this false impression that I should be available at all times to all people.
My problem is not leaving it behind, mine is remembering to take it with me. I am forever missing phone calls.
Like I said, it makes me smile..

What a brilliant concept – and how I love the picture… so many madonnas don’t actually have sweet faces like this one !!!
And what an unusual choice of green for her robes…wonderful colours -the whole picture is almost a symphony in green…
